Kenya Nyeri - Caffau
This coffee is processed at the Thuti washing station, which belongs to the Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society, one of Kenya’s most respected cooperatives for its focus on quality and traceability. The station is managed by James Nderitu Gathua and is located in the coffee-growing region of Nyeri, one of the country’s most prestigious areas for specialty coffee production.
Nyeri is known for its high altitudes, nutrient-rich volcanic soils, and stable climate—ideal conditions for producing coffees with vibrant acidity, intense aromatics, and outstanding cup clarity. At Thuti washing station, each lot is processed separately, with close attention to processing methods and sensory profile, allowing the unique characteristics of each coffee to stand out.
Within this project, each washing station presents its lots as unique expressions, forming part of a broader coffee universe where origin, processing, and the collective work of producers take center stage.
This coffee features the Ruiru 11, SL28, and SL34 varietals, iconic Kenyan varieties known for their complexity, vibrancy, and structured cup profiles, delivering bright, expressive, and refined coffees.
