Blue Faro Guatemala Specialty Coffee – Atitlán Volcano

Discover our Guatemala specialty coffee, an exceptional lot grown on the slopes of the Atitlán Volcano, one of the world’s most renowned coffee-producing regions. Carefully roasted by Blue Faro, this coffee showcases the unique character of Guatemala’s volcanic soils and the dedication of generations of passionate coffee producers.

This coffee comes from the farm of the Herrera family, led by Alex Herrera, a fifth-generation Guatemalan coffee producer. From an early age, Alex was involved in every aspect of coffee cultivation and processing, combining the traditional knowledge passed down through his family with modern production techniques and quality-focused practices. His approach is rooted in traceability, sustainability, and the pursuit of outstanding cup quality.

His farms are located in the privileged environment of the Atitlán Volcano, where high altitudes, mineral-rich volcanic soils, and a unique microclimate create ideal conditions for producing complex and balanced coffees. Among them is Los Andes, a farm acquired in 2024 that revives a rich agricultural heritage connected to the region since the 19th century. Another remarkable property is Pampojilá, located high above Lake Atitlán, where natural mist and fertile volcanic soils contribute elegance, depth, and complexity to every harvest.

Each microlot reflects the Herrera family’s commitment to environmental stewardship, local communities, and Guatemala’s coffee-growing traditions. The result is a clean, expressive coffee with remarkable character, suitable for both filter brewing and espresso preparation.

At Blue Faro, we roast this coffee in small batches to highlight its full potential and preserve the distinctive qualities that make this origin so special. Every cup tells a story of dedication, innovation, and respect for one of Guatemala’s most iconic coffee-growing regions.
