Discover an exceptional Guatemalan specialty coffee with an elegant, floral, and highly expressive character. Grown in the Nuevo Oriente region at 1,700 meters above sea level, this Geisha coffee delivers a clean, sweet, and complex cup. Carefully roasted by Blue Faro, this is an excellent choice for coffee lovers looking to explore the refined side of Guatemalan specialty coffee.
The Geisha variety is renowned for its distinctive floral and aromatic character. In the highlands of Guatemala, the combination of altitude, climate, and terroir provides ideal conditions for developing the variety's exceptional clarity and complexity.
Produced by Isabel Herrarte at El Retiro Farm, where coffee is harvested using a careful, selective approach. The harvest takes place between January and March, with ripe cherries manually selected to ensure high-quality raw material. Attention to detail at the farm and throughout processing plays an essential role in preserving the coffee's distinctive character.
The coffee is processed using the Traditional Washed method. After the cherries are received and selected, they are pulped and undergo aerobic fermentation before being washed, density-sorted, and dried outdoors. This traditional process helps preserve the clean, precise and delicate aromatic qualities of the Geisha variety.
With an SCA score of 88, this coffee has a distinctly floral profile. The cup reveals notes of jasmine, apricot, honey and green tea, combining delicate floral aromas with natural sweetness and subtle fruit character.
At Blue Faro, we roast coffee in small batches to highlight its aromatic complexity and preserve the clarity that makes Geisha coffee so distinctive. Its floral character and elegant structure make it particularly well suited to filter brewing.
